August 19th to 23rd - Never a Dull Moment

Monday, August 23, 2010

It's a good thing for photos otherwise I wouldn't have remembered what we did this weekend; yes, my memory is atrocious these days. I should probably start a vitamin regimen or something...

Someone woke up on the right side of the crib... she's such a morning person.

Back at Moores for daddy's final tux fitting.

A Costco run where we showed great restraint.

A lone photo from the race car wrap up party.

Saige went pee-pee on the potty again!
And she's started "accessorizing" her outfits... came out of her bedroom in pink crocs and a backwards cap saying "cool dude".

Weeeee! I actually put a loonie in this time to prep Saige for the I.P.E. - Apparently Trev did the same thing later in the day when he picked up my new blackberry.

She had sooo much fun pushing the mini Save-On cart around and took her job very seriously. It definitely made the grocery shop that much more enjoyable.

More accessorizing - water wing crown paired with a miscellaneous tap shoe.

The trick at getting protein into our little lightweight?
Peanut butter on a spoon.

** I'll try to add more commentary a bit later **

August 16th to 18th - Hot & Bothered

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

The temperature gauge on my rear view mirror read 41 yesterday and that my friends is just plain ol' ridiculous. The only way to survive this stiffling heat is to submerge 50% of your body in a body of water and that's what Saige and I have been doing the past few days...

On MONDAY we hung out in the Applegate's pool...

On TUESDAY we met up with Jess, Nico and friends at Lakeview Park and then went back after nap to swim in the Peanut Pool...

And of WEDNESDAY Saige splish-splashed in a luke warm bathtub.

I haven't been doing a great job at updating Saige's baby book lately, but there are some things she does that I hope I'll never forget. For example she says "welcome" instead of "thank you" and so a typical exchange goes something like this...

Mommy: "Do you want a banana?"
Saige: "peas"
* hand her the banana *
Mommy: "Can you say 'thank you'?"
Saige: "welcome"

It's so innocent and endearing I almost don't want to correct it.

Lately - once we unbuckle her from the carseat - Saige has been asking for the truck keys and if we choose to hand them over she'll gleefully crawl into the driver's seat and put them in the ignition proud as punch. She's definitely been spending too much time in Trev's trucks and equipment cause everytime we see machinery she'll say either "daddy" or "up".

Saige discovered the joys of Crayola window writers the other day; I, however, am not the biggest fan as I have to supervise her 24/7 with these little mess makers. The color wonder markers are my personal fave, but Saige does not share this preference.

It's hard not to laugh at Saige's pout because it's soooo over-the-top.

Anyways I'm off to catch some zzzzzz's...

Sweet Dreams.

August 13th to 15th - Making the Most of it

Monday, August 16, 2010

Disclaimer: I was feeling a bit guilty over the lack of photos being taken and went on a photo taking frenzy.

Lately I've been wrestling with my decision to work part-time; I feel bad that my caseload kids only have a half-time worker and the fact that my pay cheques are less than what I made at Hire-A-Student is obviously anxiety provoking. Thankfully Kim, a good friend of mine, reminded me why I did this in the first place... SAIGE. I'm working part-time for Saige and by golly (ha) I'm going to make the most of it. So without further ado, here are  some photographic gems from our last 72 hours together.

I adore watching Saige play pretend. Usually she's a puppy or kitty and will crawl around the house 'meowing' or 'woofing'. Trev and I get in on the action and will pet the puppy or throw her a "bone"... so cute.

We took our poor, hard done by puppies for a walk to Hunter's Grocery, our local corner store that has been a favourite destination of mine since I was a little girl. Jillian and I used to walk there from our grandparents' house and buy $2 waffle cones that were massive; 20+ years later I'm still going there for toonie ice cream.

Saige practicing good oral hygiene before bed.

Gramma & Grampa stopped by on their way up to the Silver Star Wine Festival.

Aaron & Debbie got married in the most beautiful backyard ceremony.
I wish I took this photo but I didn't, I stole it from the professional Mariel B

The same yard we got our family photos done at (see below). Thanks Butch & Lizzy!

Snuggles from Grandma & Grandpa Knol... aww.

I fell in love with shawty when I seen her on the dance floor...
I love these candids from our living room dance party; when Usher's 'OMG' song comes on there's no stopping us... I only wish I knew how to upload video of Saige's moves.

Show mommy your Zoolander face...

Saige goes here all the time with daycare but this was our family's first visit to Davidson Orchards

We're off to see the orchards the wonderful orchards at Davidson...

Goats and donkeys and sheep... OH MY!

Our 'farm kid'.

The "corn bin" = endless hours of fun and one amazing foot massage.

A couple of bad apples.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The apples of my eye.
*** I couldn't decide what caption I should use ***

We were practically the only ones there on a Sunday morning so we took full advantage.

We took our water baby to the Sunday evening loonie/toonie swim... she had a blast in the kiddie pool and hot tub, slept 13.5 hours straight! will definitely be doing that again - ha.

Don't mind me, just focus on the cute wittle bunny wabbit.

Our neglected dogs get a blog cameo - miserable Maddie and depressed Dokie.
(Maddison - chihuahua/shih tzu & Dakota - shepherd/malamute)

And once again it's time to unveil another trio of our trio...

* LOVE *
