August 10th & 11th - Pure Randomness

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

I managed to take one photo yesterday... Saige in her "clapping shoes". Rebecca used to have these noisy dress shoes when she was young that had to be wore everywhere and I think Saigelette is following in Auntie Becca's footsteps - no pun intended. Saige wears these oversized tap shoes ALL THE TIME and I secretly love it. She even performed for Saffron.

We've stepped up our potty training efforts and now give Saige a puppy sticker if she sits voluntarily on her potty... we try to catch her first thing in the morning and again after nap since she usually wakes up dry; our technique worked today - so hooray for Saiger and sticker bribes.

I got Saige's passport photos done on Tuesday morning and all I can stay is "someone find me a scanner"... she definitely took the 'no smiling' instruction to a whole new level... hilarious. Not quite sure what we're going to do with the passport once we get it, but hopefully we'll put it to good use before her 2nd birthday.

You probably think I'm mad for ordering a snowsuit in August, but this brand new Hanna Andersson one piece was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Hopefully it still fits November.

Coat?    No Coat?    Coat.
Saige was definitely a little raggamuffin today; she used her head as a plate for pancakes this morning so she had syrup hair until bathtime - lovely.

Saige and I made not 1, not 2, but 3 trips to Home Depot in the last 24 hours - talk about madness. After years, yes years, of neglecting the ugly plywood stairs we finally decided on carpet and booked a "measure". Apparently the "berber" we chose is not a good carpet for stairs so I have been back and forth with questions and sample pieces trying to figure out which "pile" and "underlay" suits our needs and price point. I think we've settled on a multi-tone SHAG! I was told that it's not only plush but has made quite the comeback - who knew?

We made a 'park pit stop' during our afternoon walk and Nico was introduced to swings for the very first time. I swear I've never met a more content baby or relaxed mom.

A couple weeks ago we had a family photo shoot with Chris & Jen from Chris Fowler Photography - our pictures arrived earlier today and I couldn't be more happy with how they turned out. Instead of uploading all of them at one time I'm going to add a couple to the end of each blog entry and to start things off, here's a little father-daughter series... enjoy.
