September 28th to 30th - Little Pumpkin

Monday, October 4, 2010

Saige went to her second Tuesday of kidnastics and I'm not sure she's the biggest fan. She seems more content watching her classmates flit from one apparatus to another than actually participating herself but when it comes to circle time, then she's the perfect student. Maybe she's the type of kid that prefers structure over free play and will benefit from organized sports (I guess 3 is the magic age for all that to start). Anyways we'll see how next week goes - perhaps her being the youngest has something to do with her lack of excitement over balance beams.

The "Toopy & Binoo" tour did a two day stopover in Vernon this week so Saige & I braved the crowds (and bossy organizers) to see the free 20 minute show. It's not my favourite cartoon on Treehouse TV, but at least I don't despise it like I do "Waybuloo" and "In The Night Garden" - blech! Trevor and I had this conversation just the other night (oh how things change when babes come along) and I'd have to say "Caillou" and "Toot & Puddle" are my two front-runners while Trev likes "Little Bear" and "Franklin".

With a banker and a bankruptcy trustee in the family it's no wonder that our almost 2 year old has 2 piggy banks and 2 bank accounts in her name. She likes "feeding her piggies" so Trev and I usually raid our wallets at the end of the week to encourage her hand-eye coordination and future saving habits (ha). We counted the bills in her pig from Deb & Phils the other day and she has over $100 saved already. Mommy and Daddy might need a Saige loan.

I had a craving for roasted pumpkin seeds and wanted to make a pumpkin pie from scratch so we hollowed out our Davidson pumpkin a bit early...

Unfortunately the seeds didn't taste as good as I remembered and after reading the recipe for homemade pumpkin pie I hit up Walmart - frozen pie crusts and cans of pumpkin puree are so much easier (and require less dishes).

I caught this game of hers on video. She holds onto the crib rail, leans back as far as she can go, releases her grip, falls to the mattress, laughs hysterically and repeats - naked of course.

Sweet & Sour
- the girl scowls like her daddy -

I caught her trying to hack into my computer! She has that 'deer caught in headlights' look and I'm waiting on my replacement space bar from Dell :S
