November 1st - Monster Yoga

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Being his own boss, Trev made the executive decision to make Halloween weekend a long weekend and take his girls to Kelowna to shop. For those of you who don't know our leather couch - which is less than 4 years old - is already falling apart!! It's no wonder the entire living room set only cost us $1500 - that'll teach me. The good news is our chair and ottoman are still holding up so we're in the market for a leather sectional. Hoping Kelowna would offer us more of a selection, we quickly learned that we have expensive taste and there's no way we're spending thousands of dollars on a couch that may or may not work with our next house. Not ones to waste a trip into the "big city" we hit up Costco and bought a cart full of things we didn't really need, but really wanted (including a 3-disc set of classic Christmas songs). My favourite section in Costco is the pajama table and they didn't disappoint - I was in cuddly pj heaven.

"Monster" has been Saige's word of the month. It's so funny listening to her say it as she'll do the wiggly fingers action or shush with her finger to her lips while whispering "shhhh scary monster... quiet". Where do they pick this stuff up? Saige loves fleecy jammies just as much as I do so finding her monster inspired ones - although a bit boy'ish - was purely icing on the cake.

Demonstrating her yoga poses for the camera - zen straddle splits, downward facing dog and cobra. I could watch her do her "stretches" all night.

Saige's giant yoga mat is courtesy of the big sheet of malemine daddy left on the living room floor. Trev's been working on cabinets for our downstairs laundry room hence us living amongst his building materials and tools. I can't tell you how happy I'll be once the house is finally finished; why we ever thought we'd have extra time, money and energy for renovations once Saige was born is beyond me.

In better news, we pick up Saige's big girl mattress tomorrow! Her bed frame is still in production so we're starting her out on the floor which may be a good idea should she accidently roll in the wrong direction. We're also going to keep her playpen handy in the event she thinks she's an escape artist and keeps hopping out of bed. We tried her on her crib mattress one naptime and she lasted all of 20 minutes before coming out to see us blankets in tow.
