confession & obsessions.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I'm only sharing one this week because it's beyond humiliating and a girl can only take so much embarrassment.

confession.

- while we're both trying to forget it ever happened, I'm 93% certain our neighbour saw me in my undergarments the other morning. He was in his backyard scooping up dog poo {lovely} and I was rummaging through living room laundry baskets in search of my favourite pair of fleecy pants. I'm pretty sure I screamed squawked before making a beeline for the stairs. Once upon a time this may have been quite a show, but granny panties paired with a milk stained nursing bra does not a fantasy make. I foresee a lot of awkward lawn mowing going on come Spring... it's a good thing I leave the yard maintenance up to Trev.

obsessions.

- Almond Breeze Chocolate Milk, it's heaven in a carton.

- Netflix documentaries. I'm kind of a documentary junkie and Netflix doesn't disappoint. Remember when there were actual video stores and Blockbuster employees would chose their picks of the week? Well mine for January would be 'Waiting for Superman' and 'Dear Zachary'. Anyone interested in forming a documentary discussion group? Kind of like a book club but better?

- Spit bubbles courtesy for Mr. Gabe...

- The Bachelor. I haven't been this excited for Monday night television since Jillian Harris agreed to be the Bachelorette {you can read her recap of this week's episode here}. Call me Shawntel - another Bachelor fave-o-mine - but I've hearted Benjamin ever since Emily's season. I'm loving the dates and drama and I think Ben has good selection of quality girls to choose from. I'm currently on TEAMS:

- Saige embracing winter sports - skating, x-country skiing, snowshoeing - our girl won't let snowflakes and sub-zero temperatures get in the way of her outdoor fun. I'm sooooooo looking forward to our end of the month stay-cation where Saige'll be be strapping on her first pair of downhill skis! I dreamed of these days in the delivery room awaiting her painful arrival and now they're finally here! I love 3.

- Appearing on blogrolls. Today I discovered that Courtney from Little Glass Box added ME to her blogroll! say WHAT?! For those of you who don't know, she's kind of a big deal and therefore being on her list is kind of a big deal. So very flattering and I couldn't have asked for better company...
A big cyber squeeze to all of y'all who make this little ol' blog of mine a daily read. Your traffic and comments encourage me to continue.

Congrats on appearing in her blog roll!!! How fun! Your neighbor confession reminded me of something that happened a few years ago to me. My oldest son, then a toddler, had swallowed a penny. I was told I needed to make sure it passed, so I had to ahem, search poop diapers. There I was, out on our deck with an open poopy diaper and a plastic throw away fork--when my neighbor walked over to chat. You can only imagine the explaining I had to do. Yeah.

hehe i used to be obsessed with j's milk bubbles too :D I kind of miss them now that they've been replaced by projectile vomit instead :(

also omg the bachelor used to be my favorite. We don;t own a tv {and haven't for about 6 years} so it used to be a favorite of mine to watch in bed on my laptop with pint of icecream on the night table. I don't even remember the last time I watched any show though...which means that (a)i don't know who ben is...and (b)who emily was :( I am so lame!

Congrats on the blog roll!! yey for fun discoveries!

it's the best little part of my day when I see there is a new SaigeWisdom to read!! I think I might steal your obsessions and confessions for my blog.

1. You know my neighbors see me in my under garments ALL the time. I'm terrible. :)

2. LOVE the Bachelor too. THanks for being shameless! (My favorite is Kacie B.)

Re: your confession...yeah, we have WAY too many windows in our house for how little clothing I often run around in...

And we LOVE Neflix documentaries too, partly because the selection of movies/shows on Netflix Canada is pretty mediocre! A couple documentary recommendations: Hoop Dreams and Z Boys of Dogtown. A few non-documentary Netflix recommendations: Gavin & Stacy (british sitcom), The IT Crowd (another british sitcom), The Fantastic Mr. Fox (movie)and Sin Nombre (another movie). Let me know what you think!

So one time I went over to my neighbours for a cup of tea and walked into her backyard like I'd done a million times before. Except this time she'd just finished giving her dog a bath with the hose and had stripped down to her cami and granny panties.

And she's in her 50's.

AWK-WARD.

But guess what? After a good chuckle when I got home and told my partner, I pretty much forgot about it (until I read your post and remembered) and have absolutely no problem looking in her in the eye without any flashbacks :O

Haha, I totally walk around the house undies and stained nursing bra too, almost got caught by the canada post guy the other day but hid in the pantry and didn't answer the door!

And I'm totally guilty of watching the bachelor this season, so much crazy! I'm rooting for those three girls too!
